Esports Stadium Arlington to Host 2019 Esports Awards

On November 16th, gamers and fans alike will gather to celebrate esports teams, players, coaches, and video game developers at the international 2019 Esports Awards ceremony. Previously held in London for the past three years, The Esports Awards have been moved to the Esports Stadium Arlington in Texas for its fourth annual ceremony. “The majority of viewers and participants are located within the U.S., while the UK esports scene is still in its infancy. The esports stadium should be better equipped for such an event too, providing production crews access to already installed equipment, specialized for such events and live broadcasts” (Windows Central).

Why ESA?

This powerhouse center continues to rapidly and effectively meet the esports and gaming needs of its Dallas-Fort Worth community and beyond. “It showcases the best of the best in the esports industry, and also highlights Arlington in a way that makes it clear we are a number one destination for sports, esports and entertainment,” says Decima Mullen, spokesperson for the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It also gives us the ability to shine a spotlight on our local community, hometown businesses and our people” (Arlington Voice). “It was a conversation that came about after the stadium was built,” says Jonathon Oudthone, President of ESA. “The Esports Awards have been looking to move across the pond from its home in London. So naturally, we connected and thought our venue was perfect for what they needed to do” (Dallas Observer).

Esports Stadium Arlington Background

Deemed the “largest dedicated esports facility in North America”, Esports Stadium Arlington, abbreviated ESA, continually strives to enhance the esports gaming community through its four core pillars, including versatility, community, excellence, and hospitality. While its primary purpose is to host local and international esports events, ESA also overflows with activities for the competitive gaming community, including team rooms, player lounges, a gamer gallery, retail areas, and more (BDC Network). Additionally, NVIDIA, a technology company and first partner of ESA, successfully utilizes their G-SYNC technology and high-end graphics cards for the stadium’s gaming activities, thus earning the title of “Esports hardware provider of the year” at the 2018 Esports Awards (ESA Website).

The 2019 Esports Awards Process

The three awards categories include Community Awards, Industry Awards, and Pro Awards, specifically ranging anywhere from “Streamer of the Year” to “Esports Live Event of the Year”. Esports candidates are nominated and voted on through the Esports Awards website. Excluding the “Panel’s Choice Award”, all awards are eligible for community voting. Introducing General Admission for the first time, the 2019 Esports Awards will provide general admission tickets for $25 and VIP tickets for $100 (Esports Awards Website).
